Price

All prices quoted include all taxes applicable in the UK. We reserve the right to alter prices and/or specifications at any time and without notice.

Purchasing and Payments

By submitting an order you are offering to purchase goods and allowing us to use your personal information for this purpose only. Any personal details given to us will never be used for any other purpose. We do not store any credit or debit card details nor do we share this information or any other information with third parties.

All payments on our website are processed by Stripe, one of the world’s most trusted payment processing platforms.

Our website will not accept payment from outside the UK, but if you would like to place an order from elsewhere, for delivery to a UK address, please send us an email and we can advise about other ways to make payment.

Substitutions

Many of the cheeses that we stock are seasonal, and the majority are made by hand in small batches. This means that producers will sometimes not be able to supply us with all products that we display on our website. When an order is submitted for an item that is not in stock we will substitute your ordered product with one of equal value and quality, as close to your original choice as possible.

Packaging

Some of our individual cheeses are supplied to us pre-packed by the producer. In many cases we will keep the cheese in this packaging when we send it out to customers in order to maintain freshness and prolong shelf life. The packaging will therefore often be different to that shown in the photographs on this website, which generally show the cheeses unwrapped.

Alcohol Delivery

Some of our hampers and gift boxes contain alcohol. These items cannot be purchased by any individual under the age of 18, neither can they be delivered to any individual under the age of 18. Our courier will ask for age verification on delivery if they believe the recipient could be under 18. If you have ordered alcohol from us but won’t be at your designated delivery address on your selected delivery day it is your responsibility to ensure that another adult, aged 18 or over, is there to receive the order

Delivery

To select a specific delivery date, click proceed to checkout from the basket click in the grey box marked ‘Delivery Date (optional)’ at the top right-hand side of the checkout page. You can select this date before entering your payment details and confirming the order.

It is our normal practice to send deliveries by 24 hour courier, dispatching them the day before the requested delivery date. However, when a delivery date is requested there are times when products will not arrive on the specified day due to courier error or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always do our utmost to ensure delivery as close to the specified date as possible. Please allow extra leeway at times of peak demand such as in the run up to Christmas.

We send out deliveries every weekday from Monday to Thursday, so deliveries can be scheduled for days between Tuesday and Friday.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your delivery address and delivery instructions are as accurate as possible, and to include instructions for the courier if you are likely to be out at the time of attempted delivery, for example the designation of a safe place to leave your package or an instruction to leave it with a neighbour. If a delivery attempt is made by a courier but cannot be completed because there is nobody at the address and no safe place has been designated, we cannot be held responsible for any detrimental impact the subsequent delay in delivery will have on the condition of goods. If a courier charged with delivering your goods categorises the item as having been ‘delivered’ or having had an ‘attempted delivery’ this is deemed proof that delivery was made.

Delivery charges for Scotland will be around £1 more than our charges for Wales and England due to extra charges added on by our couriers.

Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands can take an additional one or two days and will be subject to an extra delivery charge which we have to pass on from the courier. This charge will always be made clear before an order is completed. We will not be able to guarantee delivery to these areas on the requested day so please bear this in mind when ordering. We will endeavour to ensure delivery within two days of the specified day.

* All orders of £50 and over to the same address will be delivered for free within Wales, England and most of Scotland, but there will be a delivery charge for all orders (both under £50 and over £50) for some parts of the Scottish Highlands due to the substantially increased charges levied by our couriers.

If you wish to place orders to more than one delivery address, you will need to place separate orders per address and the discount can only be applied if an individual order reaches £50 or more.

Unfortunately we are not able to deliver to areas outside mainland Great Britain as we would not be able to guarantee that our products would arrive quickly enough to ensure they were in good condition. If you accidentally place an order for an area outside mainland Great Britain we will contact you to arrange a full refund as we will be unable to fulfil the order.

Returns

The normal statutory rights applying to returns and refunds, including a 14 day cooling off period, are not applicable to perishable goods such as cheese. If you are unhappy with any of the goods you have received please inform us by email immediately; do not post any goods back to us. We will arrange for a courier to collect your goods for inspection to help us resolve the issue. For non-perishable goods the Distance Selling Regulations apply, and provide you with the usual 14 day cancellation period.

Cheese Weights

Many of our cheeses are cut by hand to make up your order. We aim to sell most of our cheeses at minimum weights, meaning that the weight categories displayed online will be the minimum you receive; however there may be occasions, due to variations in the sizes of cheeses received from the producers, when individual cheeses weigh slightly less than stated. When this is the case we will endeavour to redress the balance with another cheese in the order.

Shelf Life

Many of our cheeses will be freshly cut immediately before being posted to you which will mean that their shelf life will be between 7 and 10 days when they arrive with you, assuming they are stored appropriately. Some cheeses will have considerably longer shelf lives. This will often be the case with wax covered cheeses.

Comments and Complaints

If you would like to make a complaint or a comment please email us at [email protected]. We take all complaints seriously and will do everything we can to resolve any problems.
