Yr Afr is a delicious new unpasteurised goat’s milk cheese made by Brad Cunningham in Bethesda, North Wales. It is smooth and creamy with savoury notes and a beautiful white/grey rind.

Brad and his wife Beth originally started cheesemaking in Rossendale three years ago, but they have recently moved to Wales and have started to make Yr Afr at the Cosyn Cymru dairy in Bethesda, where Carrie Rimes makes her Brefu Bach ewe’s milk cheese.

Yr Afr (which translates as ‘The Goat’) is based on Crottin de Chavignol, made in the Loire Valley.

** Please note that as Yr Afr is a young mould-ripened goat’s milk cheese it has quite a short shelf life. We will supply it with a minimum use-by date of 4 days.**

Brad Cunningham and his wife Beth produce the wonderful Yr Afr goat's milk cheese in Bethsesda, North Wales. Brad and Beth relocated to the Snowdonia region from Yorkshire a couple of years ago. After arriving in North Wales they established their own small herd of goats and started to make cheese at the Cosyn Cymru dairy. They now source unpasteurised goats milk from two other local herds and have been gradually increasing their production.

Yr Afr is a mould-ripened soft cheese based on Crottin de Chavignol. It's name literally means 'the goat' in English. Despite being such a new cheese it has been picking up a number of awards including Best Micro-Producer at the Artisan Cheese Awards.
