Mon Las is an intensely creamy blue cheese made by Menai Jones of Caws Rhyd y Delyn on Anglesey. This richly veined medium-firm blue is produced by following a Welsh take on a Gorgonzola recipe.
Menai’s small herd of pedigree Holstein Friesian cows are all bred on the farm. During the spring and summer they graze on the lush pastures of Anglesey. The cheese is made on the farm just metres away from where the cows are milked. As well as using their own fantastic milk Caws Rhyd y Delyn also use the local Halen Mon Anglesey sea salt in their cheeses.
Mon Las is a past winner of the Royal Welsh Show’s Supreme Champion Cheese Award.
