Caws Cryf (meaning ‘strong cheese’) is an extra-mature Cheddar made by Caws Cenarth in Carmarthenshire. This wax-covered mini truckle has an intense, rich flavour and the creaminess typical of Caws Cenarth cheeses. Add this to a cheeseboard and enjoy with a slice of apple or a glass of cider for the perfect flavour combination.
Caws Cenarth have been making cheese on their farm in the valley of the river Cych in West Wales for several generations. Thelma and Gwynfor Adams spearheaded the renaissance in Welsh cheesemaking in the 1980s, and the business is now run by their son Carwyn. Cenarth now make a diverse range of superb organic cheeses, many of which have won multiple awards.
