Three new Welsh cheeses!

There’s nothing we love more than championing Welsh cheeses, and we get incredibly excited when new ones come along that we can share with you both online and in our shops. So you can imagine our delight when we were able to add three new cheeses to our range just a few days ago.

Sinodun Hill and Brightwell Ash are two outstanding goats’ milk cheeses made by Norton & Yarrow (shown above) in Carmarthenshire. Fraser Norton and Rachel Yarrow have been making cheese for around 10 years, though for most of that time they were based in Oxfordshire as tenant farmers.

About a year ago, they moved to their own farm in Pencrug, Carmarthenshire, along with their herd of 250 goats. They’re now back up to full production in their new home, and we’re delighted that these exceptional cheeses are now being made here in Wales.

Purple Vale is the latest creation from Snowdonia Cheese Company, released to mark their 25th anniversary. It’s a rich, crumbly mature Cheddar blended with balsamic caramelised red onion chutney and infused with Giusti 3 Gold Medals Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
